Panel at Harvard Blockchain Conference, Distributed AI and Healthcare Innovation

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to discuss distributed AI and healthcare innovation at the Harvard Blockchain Conference, HBC2024. The Programmability: “Desci & Desociety, the Programmable Network Future”

Healthcare is shifting from a cure-treatment approach to a prevention approach.

Let’s rephrase this from a data-processing perspective.

The cure treatment approach is an event-driven method where when the event of a disease occurs, that event is interpreted and categorized into a predefined classification, and a corresponding treatment is performed.

On the other hand,
The prevention approach focuses more on understanding the baseline pattern, seasonality, and long-term macro trends through trajectory monitoring, and monitoring deviations from them.

This requires understanding individual-level longitudinal data patterns
as well as having a population-level macro understanding.

As you know well, this is fundamentally a characteristic of distributed/collective AI technologies. So, I believe that it can drive healthcare innovation and enable a new paradigm.
